iTero Digital Scanner
If you’ve ever had a traditional smile impression taken, you know that it’s pretty uncomfortable to sit through the process of having the mold created. Luckily, there is now an alternative to the slower and messy goop impressions—the iTero digital impression system. The iTero scanner uses optical technology to quickly create 3D digital scans of the teeth and the gums, and the scanner itself is a small, handheld wand that is moved by a member of our team to guide the scanning process.
Not only does the iTero scanner allow for a more comfortable impression-free process, but it also allows Dr. Beckstrand to see a more detailed map of your smile. The digital scans produced are more accurate and precise, meaning your treatment plan is also going to be significantly more accurate.
3D Printing
In conjunction with the iTero Digital Scanner, 3D printing technology allows us to print clear aligners and retainers in-office. Our team utilizes specialized printing technology that works directly with scanned models to create appliances that are custom-fitted for each patient’s mouth.
This in-office access to printing technology allows us to make any necessary adjustments without lengthy waiting periods. For example, if a patient loses or damages a retainer, our team can print replacements quickly and easily.
